I live right in the middle of a city of 100,000 and I do not own a dryer for my family of four. I air dry everything year round. My secret is a couple of these clothes drying racks. I can either put them outside if the weather is cooperating or I can set them up in my house.

It is a great way to reduce your electric bill by 6-10%. Also since I am drying here in town I can save more energy since I can use my bike or walk for most errands and to get back and forth to work.Mary Q Contrariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05584539485118571553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37861786.post-13720459285066835162010-06-03T22:22:34.869-04:002010-06-03T22:22:34.869-04:00I might as well add:

OK, it's actually a city, but a visitor would call it a town.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11522913457942999355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37861786.post-29102872865012581192010-06-03T20:29:57.005-04:002010-06-03T20:29:57.005-04:00no bugs, no. I installed a mini rack thing from Ikea in my new tiny, but efficient laundry room (the room that used to be an office, a nursery, an art room, and then an office again, in that order). I love my laundry room. Laundry can be poetic.

Funny story to tell Lily--in Pakistan the girls didn't realize that all laundry gets hung by the servants in the very visible backyard and Yasmine was mortified to see her teeny tiny thongs drying in the breeze and servants actually snickering at the sight! Kindly snickering, but snickering none the less!KCFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00685155860282341767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37861786.post-75237997592720058402010-06-03T06:27:26.413-04:002010-06-03T06:27:26.413-04:00But don't you get bugs on your clothes? But don't you get bugs on your clothes?ChickenUnderwearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06025866506646843697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37861786.post-31163488324421908972010-06-02T22:42:25.107-04:002010-06-02T22:42:25.107-04:00PS -- that's our wild mountain laurel in bloom...PS -- that's our wild mountain laurel in bloom.
